Entertainment has played a role in Maritime Greenwich for many centuries.

William Shakespeare performed for Elizabeth I in Greenwich Palace and Thomas Tallis, who is buried in St Alfege Church, was Choral Master to Henry VIII. The theatrical and musical traditions continue today, and there are also lots of festivals, exhibitions and activities for you to enjoy.

Our calendar of events can help you plan when to make your visit. There are spectacular comedy and jazz festivals, compelling plays and musicals at Greenwich Theatre, summer concerts and theatricals in Greenwich Park as well as concerts and recitals by the talented students of Trinity College of Music, who practise and perform in the Old Royal Naval College. Just down the river, The O2 is home to a 22,000 seat arena which attracts the best musicians and sportsmen in the world plus special exhibitions, clubs and the British Music Experience.
